ABOUT ME

The foundation for Stretching Forward comes from my belief that today matters and that our past is only part of what shapes our future. As my journey continues toward being a scholar of spirit and soul, my goal is to inspire women to rediscover their passion for life. I have been leading women’s retreats since 2018 and find inspiration with each adventure, whether at Lakeside or on Zoom.

A registered nurse for over forty years, nineteen years of my nursing career were spent as an RN educator, certified in nursing professional development. Before retiring, I also provided inspirational retreats for hospital employees and my church. Stretching Forward was developed after my retirement from nursing to provide retreats for women who are ready to take the time to reflect on their lives and look ahead at what life has yet to offer. As women, we often miss the opportunity to find time for ourselves, to evaluate our lives. As Anne Morrow Lindberg said, “For if it is a woman’s nature to nurture, then she must nourish herself.” It’s never too late.

One of my goals when I started Stretching Forward was to help prevent burn out for our nurses by providing them with continuing education that offers a chance for self-renewal. Even before Covid, caregivers were stretched to their limit, whether as nurses, mothers, or so many other ways. I am pleased to offer 12 nursing contact hours for the two-night retreat, Celebrate What’s Right With Your World. We all get overwhelmed with our lives. Retreat offers each of us a chance to reconnect with ourselves, embrace the lives we have, and learn new habits of celebration. Solitude, serenity, and grace.

Married to my husband for over twenty-five years, we enjoy time with our five children, their spouses, and our eleven grandchildren. Throughout my life I have been active as a volunteer in my community through PTA, scouting, and church. Covid did not stop my journey or my resolve to make every day count. My mantra: You will never be younger than you are today. It’s time to embrace your next step. Please join our mailing list by clicking on ‘CONTACT.’
